Re-defining your blog strategies.
It shouldn’t be too much nor too less, it has to be just enough to get the job done.
This is where I want to explain that you can’t use the same blog strategy everywhere, I’m gonna go ahead and use my own strategy as an example for this.
When I first seriously started working on this blog, I went all out on it on the first 2 months, it had a really great effect on the blog, no doubt. It was a new blog, no one knew about it, people wanted to know more and over time the traffic grew as the content got better and better and I had the same strategy in play, now around 7 months after the launch, times have changed alot, I’ve gone from a “newbie” to a somewhat Pro blogger blogging on a well established, trusted and authoritative blog (which I adore). Now my readers want more specific information overtime rather then daily news/tips..etc. To be honest this was the biggest and by far the best change I had to go through with blueverse, I never go off track with my content targetting, my readers subscribe to my blog so that they get what they wanted in the first place rather then some bullshit about technology or how I’m doing in life..etc.
I’ve seen that usually blogs get majorly side tracked as sthey grow over time, their content becomes more about themselves, theirlives rather that what they started out as, a few good tips followed by a lifetime of bullshit, no one wants that.
Here I’ve described two strategies, take on whatever suits you best.
All out strategy- Beginners : Starting out your blog.
Daily content - consistency is a must
Social Life Online - Make friends, be pro active
Interaction with readers - Contests, Polls..etc anything to get your readers to comment or interact with your blog
Theme - Design is important make sure you either make a design or buy something really nice
Cover topics at your hand and any topics surrounding them
Photos, videos and resources are a must, you need them!
RSS advertisements - by that I mean advertising your rss feed link, go all out post it everywhere on the blog and other sites.
Link exchange - Need pr? Need traffic? - GET LINKS!
Social Bookmarking - it’s a must, make lists, make huge ass posts, stumble them, digg them, whatever it takes to get traffic.
Laid Back strategy - Intermediate/PRO - Working on an established blog
Make sure you are getting comments on every post you make
Post about topics that you think will get alot of response, if you don’t have a post in mind then take the day off and think off one.
Make top lists such as top 50 blogs with great names/designs/bloggers..etc and digg it or whatever to get some links coming in.
Make sure you are friendly to everyone who contacts you.
Sell ads more often and never let the traffic go down.
That’s about it, I’m currently running this blog on the laid back strategy, it’s going really well in my opinion, I just broke the 900 readers limit!
This is a business blog focusing on entrepreneurs and how to make money online and off line and I am an authority at this particular area, I don’t need anyone to tell me something I already know, If I can do it, you guys can too, have confidence in what you start, you’ll make it eventually.
