Critical SEO Tasks You Should Be Doing Every Week
I ran across a blog post today that I found to be pretty handy on WebsiteMagazine.com. I thought I’d pass it along to those of you looking for some regular things to do each week in terms of SEO for your sites, blogs, etc.
The post title is called The Once-A-Week SEO Checklist. Here are the items from their list of 8 Weekly SEO Tasks that I found particularly important:
Use Google Webmaster Tools to check sitemaps & check for crawl errors
This is one of those things that none of us likes to do, but we should be checking frequently. It only takes a minute and can help you keep your site in tip top shape.
Follow the trends
Digging in to your analytics a bit can reveal how users are interacting with your site (site problems, pages they’re leaving from regularly, etc). This givse you opportunity to be more intentional with your content and site structure changes.
Seek out your best search phrases and use them a lot
This is probably my favorite from their list and something I’ve been trying to do more of lately. I call this low hanging fruit. When you’re already ranking or receiving traffic from a particular keyphrase, why not use it more and continue to solidify your position with that keyphrase? This is a smart move and something easy you can start today.
Check out The Once-A-Week SEO Checklist for all 8 SEO tasks.
